I Needed A Break

blogging break

I took a week off of blogging and nothing bad happened.

I’ve been in a bit of a writing slump lately. It’s been an endless cycle of the comparison game and I’ve just felt like there’s no reason for me to keep writing.

I opened my laptop several times to start writing but I couldn’t find the words. I have drafts that I could have easily set to publish but none of them seemed right either. I needed a week to recharge, regroup, and find some new inspiration so that’s what I did.

Blogging is supposed to be a fun, creative outlet to get me outside of my comfort zone and de-stress. Sometimes it becomes the source of my stress and that’s when I know that I need a break.

I have a lot of big things happening in June. I’m throwing a baby shower for my sister in law, traveling to meet up with some friends, and the start of our busy airshow season. All of these things are creating a lot of stress even though I’m excited for them. As always, just trying to take things day by day.

How do you feel about taking a break from blogging?

I have taken breaks from Blogging mostly for my health problems again this year. I miss writing when my blog posts when I am not here telling stories. It is better for my body and my soul to be away from creating new stories. I love to read the blog posts that my peers write. see a break is not a break unless we read other blog posts as we recover.

I agree! Your health will always come first and people will still be around to read whenever you can come back again. I don’t feel like myself when I’m not writing because it’s my favorite way to express myself. I still always love to read blog posts too!

Thank you Hayley for the wonderful comments. I do not have any type of computer to take with me to write. I do have wordpress.com on my phone. I will try to write but it is hard as I just want to relax when faced with such medical problems. I always will return to create more blog posts once I am back and into writing again. Thanks again Hayley !!

I totally understand. I’ve taken a lot of time off from blogging lately because my heart just hasn’t been in it. I’ve been dealing with my mental health which takes a lot for me to focus on. When I do think about blogging, I just feel like I have nothing to say. It started feeling repetitive and pointless. I still want to do it but it’s hard to get back into it. I’m hoping the break helps!

Your health takes top priority! It’s totally fine to take a break whenever you need one without explanation. I feel the same way when I’m not in a good place. I can think about blogging but I have nothing to write about. Hopefully the break will help! I’ll be sure to read whenever you feel able to post 🙂 You’ve got this!!

It’s a lot to keep up with blogging. Taking a break does the soul good. Getting back can be hard. I usually read some unfinished work and by the time I get to where I left off, I can continue writing. Working on something familiar gets me back in the groove instead of looking at a blank page for new material.

I totally agree. I think it’s time I take a break from blogging and recharge. Comparison trap is very deadly, I’m even taking a month off from social media, maybe? I need to experience the present of my own life, instead of through the prefect world on social media. Im still going to be here to read your post when you come back online.

I just took a week break from blogging, too! We all need a little breather once in awhile. You’re right, writing should be a destressor, not the opposite! & it’s totally okay to be anxious about things you’re excited for! Hope all of your events were a blast if they’ve happened yet. ♡
